Ways To Use Golf Carts Besides Golfing

By Jerry C. Sotto

When you think of golf carts, do you think of all the different uses for them? Even many professional sports teams, not only the PGA and LPGA, make use of them. When cities/towns have special events, you will notice that the people in charge use golf carts to get from place to place quickly.

The growth of private gated communities and resorts has resulted in the use of golf carts to get around instead of using the usual mode of transportation, the car. The members can use their golf cart to go to the stores in their area since these communities have wide enough paths rather than just sidewalks.

Golf carts are also coming on the scene at medical campuses in order to transport people to and from various locations that are too far for some to walk, yet too short to drive.

Most people have to come to realize the effectiveness of golf carts, including utility golf carts. From being able to plow your driveway in deep snow, to digging and even pulling a trailer, the utility golf cart has made its way into homes around the globe, making it a more affordable option than buying a tractor.

Retirement villages are also a great place for golf carts to be used. The inhabitants can still have the joy and freedom of a vehicle without most of the hassle.

Golf carts can be very basic or you can trick them out with everything from door panels to air conditioning to leather seats. Your list of options is almost limitless. Custom golf carts are available at prices rivaling a new car.

Several items you need to consider before deciding to use a golf cart instead of a car is what your city or state requires, if you need a special license to operate the cart, and if you have insurance that covers you while using the cart.

All-in-all, golf carts are fast becoming a widely accepted mode of transportation, both on and off the course. Check them out the next time you are in the market for alternate forms of transportation.
