How To Farm Gold In World of Warcraft

By Joanne Keith

There are many ways to farm gold in World of Warcraft, but many people still find it hard to earn enough and are more inclined to buy gold in the real world. Admittedly, farming fold is a gaming skill that comes with experience and learning. I do not buy gold, but I did spend quite some time in advancing gold making skills in my first year and I managed to make quite a few characters across different servers. I was even able to trade epic flyers for five characters just in my year one.

If you are new to the game, the best way you can start is by gathering items. Many things from the game, be it mining, skinning, fishing, cooking mats or cloth, can all earn you some handsome gold.

Below are some tips for you to start making some gold.

1. Spend about thirty minutes a day in gathering mats. That will accumulate to big amount in the long run. If you look at the Auction House, you will find that there is a good supply of Northrend mats, as more and more people are in that area now. So, you may like to get mats in Outland or even in Pre B.C. to avoid huge competition.

2. Keep monitoring the Auction House and try to spot items with less competition before you go about to farm a target.

3. It is always a good idea to farm for items that are easy to get and easy to sell. For instance, it is not hard to fish for deviate fish in the Barrens and they can sell for any where between 10 to 20 gold per stack. For about 30 minutes, you should be able to get around 2 stacks of them.

4. Frequent yourself in the auction house and get familiar with the average prices of the items that you intend to sell. If the price of a particular item drops in one day, don't panic. You should know that price fluctuation is only normal and it does not hurt to wait a few days until the price goes back to its average.

5. Sites like Thott or Wowhead are also helpful resources, as they will provide you with ideas of how much an item usually sells in the Auction House. Keep those information in your mind will help you avoid underpricing your items, and you may even spot an under-priced item and do an arbitrage immediately.

Some people may find that these tips for farming WOW gold will take too much time away from their game play. This is true. However, as said, gold farming is a skill that comes with experience and learning. So, don't expect to skip the basics when you start out. You are sure to know about the more advanced techniques as you move on.
